From the time we returned from my first trip to Japan there was never any question about going back.
The only question was when.
Financial and other considerations ruled out 2009, the Indian Pacific trip cut in just before the preferred window next time around, and while I could have afforded to go twelve months ago there were issues with earthquakes and aftershocks that had knowledgeable people on the ground suggesting it wasn’t a good idea for Hughesy to be heading over in October 2011.
The Photographer went on her own that time, and the report she brought bak had me pencilling in a three week trip for October/November 2012.
And now that the trip is over there’s the small matter of writing up the Travelogue.
